About Me

Hi! I’m Mani, the founder and CEO of Lee Artistry.

I started my business at 17; at first only taking on small illustration jobs. Now I’m a self-taught graphic designer & illustrator who has worked with hundreds of small business owners and individuals.

I’ve had to learn a lot along the way with the process of trial and error. I’d love to be an integral part of taking stress out of the branding process for your flourishing or upcoming business. Let’s create a roadmap together that will lead you to success.

Time to discuss! I’ll gather your feedback on the project drafts and make adjustments as necessary. We’re almost done!

FINALIZE

Almost at the finish line! Now that we’ve figured it all out, it’s time to finalize the project and make sure everything is ready and organized to send off or publish.

Woo-hoo! You have everything you need to announce your new brand! Time to have those customers rolling in!

I think it’s universal amongst designers & artists that the worse the sketch is the better the end product will be 😂
Sketches are just a rough idea but this is how the concept begins to take shape.
I don’t share the drafting stage with clients because I know it would just be confusing; I’d rather get out all my ideas with kindergartner scribbles first so I can present the polished brand concept that makes sense!

Moodboard vs. Logo 💙
Boss Kids Braiding Academy is a braiding school that gives kids (and adults) the confidence to become professional braiders, wig makers, and extension techs.

The business already had brand colors they wanted to stick with, but I had to make sure they represented the brand properly.

Royal blue is all about confidence and reliability which is exactly what gaining education does for you. Teal is refreshing; it represents calmness and creativity, which the art of braiding is a blend of.

The additional shades add depth & contrast with dark blue conveying stability, and the light blue representing openness.

I’m excited to post more about this brand! I’ll be posting a reel about the difference between what their previous logo was that I did 5+ years ago vs. the branding I just created. I’m also designing them a website so stick around 👀

Honestly when I first saw this trend I felt a bit down; feeling like what I’ve accomplished or been through didn’t compare to the posts I saw.

But the more I thought about it, I realized that I have my own story to share and even though I’m not where I want to be, I’m also not where I was. I think the younger version of me would be proud of me in a lot of ways. Maybe disappointed in others, but that’s okay - I’m a work in progress.

This is a bit of a goofy one but bear with me because there is some deeper meaning 😂 -

I’ve been contemplating a lot of things with my rebranding and where I want my business to go, what content I want to create, and the clients I want to attract moving forward. I have realized that I have a very specific idea of what “professionalism” means and I get scared thinking about if I fit that description or if my aesthetic is too “fun” or “alternative” etc.

But the more I see women in my field be themselves, and put their interests, opinions, and personalities on display and incorporate it into their business… the more it inspires me to want to be authentic too.

Shout out to all the women who show up the way they are in their brand - you inspire me to do the same, and to rethink what “professional” really means.

Abundant Spaces made it clear to me what was at the core of their brand’s mission: the desire to show women how important they are, and to be a support system to women who feel like they’re pouring from an empty cup.

They wanted a brand that was holistic, feminine, and showed strength and connection. After brainstorming the ways that could be incorporated, I landed on combining ginkgo leaves which represent resilience and harmony, with the yin & yang to symbolize balance & duality.

This is why research & strategy is so important in creating a brand that represents a business’s internal mission!

The main reasons your brand identity needs multiple logo variations are adaptability and versatility. You wouldn’t put the same logo in your website header as you would on your Instagram profile picture. Why? Because their formats are different, and you don’t want your logo to be unreadable & a poor representation of your brand depending on the platform.

When I design a brand identity, I always include a primary logo, a horizontal logo, submark, and favicon. Then I may also do a logomark or other variations depending on what the specific brand requires!

This was fun 🫶🏻 Since I’m rebranding and finally becoming active on Instagram, consider this my first post in regards to introducing myself!

I have two conflicting aesthetics that I love almost equally 😭 It’s like light mode & dark mode haha. Does anyone else change their aesthetic based off how they’re feeling that day 🤔 What would you consider your style to be? Mine is cottagecore & fairy princess on some occasions and more goth & alternative inspired on others. But ultimately my usual outfit is just a t-shirt & pajama pants as I work at home 😅

I designed the brand identity for Chelly & Cam Hope Foundation back in 2023. When the owner reached out not too long ago to get a one-page site done, I was looking forward to using all the visual framework I had already put together within the design of the website.

Their mission is one of importance to me, as I also have struggled with my mental health. The blue and yellow color theme creates a calming and pleasant feeling while having enough yellow to where it isn’t overwhelming, as it represents hope.

Rocsii Woolley is an inspiring leader and coach, dedicated to empowering her community. She’s the founder & CEO of the Source LA, which has several different branches, all providing useful information, resources, and updates to her community.

She reached out to me to design a website for her personal brand as Rocsii Woolley, separate from The Source LA. I was thrilled to do that for her! She had a vision of something sleek, professional, and informative. She wanted people to know who she was and what her values were by visiting her website. Since it’s a personal brand, I stuck with her favorite color which is purple, and went with a darker theme.

I’m so glad she was happy with what I created and I’m proud to have contributed to a business owner’s brand that is so rooted in helping others achieve their full potential.

My client came to me with the phrase “My love has limits” - representing how despite your love for others, some people try to take advantage of that. Boundaries are useful and necessary.

From that initial idea, I created a moodboard for the visual direction, then dove into the logo design where I used gothic inspired blackletter fonts and incorporated hearts and the symbol of a heart with a lock and chains wrapped around it to symbolize closing your heart off.

This translated to the shirt where I designed a 3D graphic of an anatomical heart and balanced it with symbols of arrows, keys, etc. My client loved it all! This was a fun project that let me express my creativity.

Jeneva originally built her own website but she wasn’t truly satisfied. When it came time to send her website to companies regarding med spa acceptance, she realized that an improvement was needed and needed quickly… so she reached out to me!

I designed the visual identity and then did the website. She wanted something calm and inviting so that’s exactly what she got! After I was done, she had a website she was proud to reference and a weight lifted off her shoulders. While she was busy running her multiple med spa and permanent makeup businesses, I took care of her brand and website.
